Graphene is projected to become the component industry’s next answer to material questions.  Dubbed as the newest ‘wonder material’, researchers at NC State are eyeing this material for extremely fast components because of its high conductivity.  With all this upside, there is an obstacle to overcome.  Graphene’s conductivity exponentially decreases with multiple layers.  Since wafers cannot be made from only one layer, its bilayer form will have to be studied extensively to conquer this issue.
